PATTERN TESTERS
How Does it Work
What I expect from a pattern tester
What can you expect from me
Pattern testing is an important part of the quilt pattern development process. You will receive an advanced copy of the quilt pattern, you will be asked to make the quilt top, provide feedback and share photos of the finished top and process.
When I have a pattern to test I will contact a maximum of 8 people from the tester pool and invite them to test. I will provide a mock up of the pattern, dates and deadlines, so you can decide if you would like to join. I usually ask for a turnaround time of around 6 weeks.
Unfortunately I am currently unable to pay pattern testers, however you do get a free copy of the pattern and if you want anything promoted on Instagram very happy to share your quilting products to all my followers.
A basic knowledge of quilting
Ability to read a pattern, provide constructive feedback by a certain deadline on general layout, grammar, fabric requirements and cutting and piecing instructions.
To be able to take well lit photos on phone of fabric pulls, construction and completed quilt top.
Photograph the making of your quilt top but not to post any photos until the designated time. I usually start posting tester posts in the final week of launch.
Not to share any images that show cutting or pattern instructions or measurements of block or piece sizes. This is to protect the pattern
A well written and detailed pattern for testing.
A private chat group for testers to build a community, friendship, ideas, feedback and updates (no obligation to join).
I will check in regularly to see how you are getting on, answer any questions or queries you have through the pattern testing process and keep you up to date of any key changes or errors other testers have picked up.
I will share your quilt top on my Instagram feed, mention you by name and IG handle. I will only share 3 tops at a time to ensure that your hard work is recognised and appreciated.
I will also share your photos on my website showing a round up of all the testers and their quilt tops after launch.
I will send out clear communication on deadlines, fabrics etc..

I really appreciated your interest in signing up, without your assistance I wouldn’t be able to produce beautiful patterns for the quilting community. Thank you in advance.
